Illustrations and quick sketch

The illustrations are a hybrid of hand-drawing and Photoshop. The sketches involve watercolor brush pens and were done on location in limited periods of time after non-posing figures in action.

Fatal Smile @ the Whiskey A Go Go

What a pleasure it is to draw a band whose larger-than-life stage presentation does not undermine their openness to fans. I respect and adore these guys. The quick sketch was done with watercolor brush pens, pastel, and marker brush pens. I only had a very short time to do this as the Whiskey does not have very long set times, so I think it was done in about 20 minutes. But I like the Whiskey because they are not jerks about my sketching. In fact, they are quite nice. Always have been. Since 1992.

Man and the motorcar

Rico and the guys played last night at Bordello in Little Tokyo. I used brush pen, watercolor brush pen, and oil pastel. It was very dark, but a nice girl came and held a candle for me.

The Gords

These guys played at Safari Sam's at my birthday party. A lot of my guests have never seen me do my thing at the clubs before, and this was the main drawing they watched me create on the fly.
